In case you missed it: four years ago, WESH, NBC channel 2 in Orlando, showed video footage of a man trapping an alligator in a plastic trans can, and then wheeling the gator away to a pond across the street.

This took place in Orange County in the Orlando area.

"I don't know the procedures, so I did it my own way," the Army veteran said.

Fatal alligator attack in Polk County: A 61-year-old woman died in a fatal alligator attack on Lake Kissimmee on January 21, 2026, according to a new Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) report.

The incident occurred while she was canoeing with her husband. The alligator, estimated at 11 feet 5 inches long, attacked as the canoe passed over its back, causing it to capsize.

The woman’s body was recovered in 2 feet of water after the alligator thrashed her. The report noted the couple had seen multiple alligators prior to the attack.

Alligator bellowing captured on video: A large male American alligator was recorded bellowing at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary near Naples on January 20, 2026.

Alligator captured in Naples pool: In late December 2025, a nearly 8-foot-long alligator was captured from a family’s swimming pool in Naples, Florida

Video footage shows the animal being pulled from the pool, taped, and loaded into a trailer. The incident sparked widespread attention, with locals expressing shock at the size and location of the animal.
