Doral, Florida - This weekend the Voter-Registration Battalion of the Election Integrity Brigade of Miami-Dade County conducted a drive at the Florida Gun Show in Tamiami Park on Coral Way and 109th Avenue.
A couple of weeks ago, the Supervisor of Elections of this county announced that there are now more registered Republican voters than Democrats for the first time ever. Nevertheless, registered voters are fairly evenly split among Republicans, Democrats and No Party Affiliations.
Even though only around 34% of registered voters in this county are Republican, a full 55% of all registered voters voted for President Trump in the general election last November. This means that at least 20% of registered voters are willing to vote for a conservative, America First, MAGA candidate, but are not registered Republicans.
In States like Florida and Texas, where the Republican party dominates, most of the important political contests take place in the Republican primaries. Accordingly, if conservative voters want to have a say in those contests, then they must register Republican.

Republican Executive Committee of Miami-Dade County
On the other hand, the Republican Executive Committee of this county has not promoted voter registration. As a result, in last year’s elections:
1. The REC fielded multiple weak candidates against the incumbent woke progressive Democrat County Mayor. She won decisively in the first round of her non-partisan election, which was held in August at the same time as the party primaries. See: https://miamiindependent.com/miami-dade-republican-executive-committee-serves-bread-circuses/.
2. They fielded no candidates at all in the general election during November against the incumbent Democrat State’s Attorney, who has been in office for some 32 years, and the incumbent Democrat Public Defender. Compare that with the 11 Republican candidates for Sheriff, some of whom were lawyers, and could have run for State’s Attorney or Public Defender. They would surely have won in the general election last November, like the other five county-wide Republican candidates referred to below, riding President Trump’s coat-tails.
3. They fielded no candidates at all against the four incumbent Democrat County Commissioners who were up for re-election, even though Trump won two of their districts. All three incumbent Republican County Commissioners up for re-election faced opponents, and all three prevailed.
4. They did not support the three Republicans running in non-partisan elections for School Board.
The five Republican county-wide candidates in last November’s general election all won riding Trump’s coat-tails, receiving the same percentages of the vote. These county-wide offices are Sheriff, Clerk of Courts and Controller, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector and Supervisor of Elections.
The conservative cause does not necessarily reside in the Republican party, but in the independent grassroots conservative groups like EIB. As Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick of the Great State of Texas observes: first he is a Christian, second he is a conservative, and only third is he a Republican. The two conservative Republican Presidents during the last 40 years - - Reagan and Trump - - both came from outside the establishment and won with grassroots support.

Upcoming Primary Elections Next Year
The Voter-Registration Battalion, together with all other interested volunteers, propose to continue registering Republican voters up to the primary elections in August 2026. At that time there are expected to be contested Republican primaries for the following offices:
1. United States Senator: Incumbent Ashley Moody versus probably Congressman Cory Mills.
2. Governor: Congressman Byron Donalds versus probably Florida First Lady Casey DeSantis.
3. Attorney General: Incumbent James Uthmeier versus maybe former Congressman Matt Gaetz.
4. State Senator Alexis Calatayud (RINO-38th District) certainly deserves a conservative challenger.
5. Non-partisan elections, starting on the same date as the primaries, for County Commissioners and members of School Boards.

All these so-called non-partisan offices should be recognized for what they are: partisan political offices. They should be re-classified by the state legislature and Governor.
The Voter-Registration Battalion is committed to providing Republican registration opportunities not only for unregistered United States citizens, but also for citizens who are currently registered Democrat or No Party Affiliation.
As Trump himself taught us: “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
