In a stunning display of competence and poise, former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and Senator Marco Rubio sailed through their confirmation hearings in the Senate today. Both are expected to be easily confirmed, with several notable moments standing out from the proceedings.
Newly minted Senator Adam Schiff made an utter fool of himself, badgering Bondi about the 2020 election results and demanding she confirm she would be going after people like former Congresswoman Liz Cheney for alleged witness tampering during the rigged House inquiry into the January 6th protests. In a bizarre turn, Schiff even tried to force Bondi to admit there was massive voter fraud in the 2020 election, yet wouldn’t let her answer - despite her firsthand experience of election fraud in Pennsylvania. With politicians like Schiff in charge, it’s no wonder LA is still on fire.
Senator Rubio enjoyed even more outstanding support, with some speculating he might receive 101 affirmative votes - though that’s impossible as VP Harris won’t have a vote. Rubio demonstrated his extensive knowledge, addressing every aspect of the planet he will soon be diplomatically traveling, even adding topics questioners had forgotten to ask. It’s clear that Rubio and Trump are Floridians on the same page, ready to tackle the challenges ahead. From China to Greenland and Venezuela and Cuba, the world is now on notice the Trump Doctrine will be in force following Monday’s inauguration. Rubio, a Miami native, is the first Cuban American Secretary of State. Miami’s favorite son caps off a list of many firsts that saw him as the first Cuban Florida Senator and Speaker of its House of Representatives in 2006.
While the rest of President Trump’s cabinet is yet to be confirmed, it’s unlikely any will match the smooth performance of Senator Rubio. Florida’s favorites have set the bar high, leaving the nation eager to see what they accomplish in their new roles.
