Earlier this month, WPLG (channel 10) reported that a man had been thrown from his 25th floor balcony on Miami Beach in February, and a suspect has been charged.
According to the news presenter, when police apprehended the suspect, he appeared to be on drugs.
Prior to the incident, the victims called 911, but mid-phone call, investigators say, the victim cut out. Part of the background conversation was recorded, with the victim telling the suspect to get out.
The defendant's lawyer said that the case against his client is "purely circumstantial".
Judge Mindy S. Glaser said, "I believe there is probably cause for the charges of second-degree murder, which is a first-degree felony."
The suspect faces additional charges. The judge ordered that the suspect be held in jail without bond.
