It appears that Jacksonville, FL, has been keeping an illegal registry of gun owners for nearly two years, since July, 2023. These records were gathered by security guards, from people entering two public buildings while armed, says Jacksonville Councilman, Nick Howland (R)
From the Breitbart article, Howland said, “In those notebooks for two years, that info has been gathered. Florida is a no-registry state. So, that is a clear violation of state law.
Wow. Is ToTALLYtarian Tallahassee behind this? Inquiring minds will want to know. NEED to know. Is DeGov’s home town pulling a dirty fast one? Or was the liberal administration in irrational fear of guns, as is freqently the case? Just asking.
Either way, the law was broken. Not “allegedly”, actually broken.
As Chair of the City Rules Committee, Howland is asking that the Mayor’s office, the Office of the General Council and the Public Works Dept. meet within the week to discuss this illegal activity. I can imagine the excuses/expalnations.
The buildings in question are the City Hall and the Yates Building, currently the home of city government offices and a parking garage.
Jacksonville Mayor, Donna Dugan (D) has says the City has complied with the States Attorney’a request to meet.
Here is another “alleged” activity, but the notebooks keeping records on private citizens who legally carry guns, seem to be very real, as they were discovered, not imagined.
