This Saturday, September 14th, the Leadership Institute held a sold-out event in Orlando, Florida called Embracing Womanhood. Over 500 women attended the leadership institute.org event from around the state to hear a discussion on topics ranging from "Women's Voice in Leadership," "Parental Rights," "Defending Women's Spaces," and "Civic Engagement in the Real World." The panelists included Congresswoman Kat Cammack (FL)m, Congresswoman Laurel Lee (FL), Executive Director of Fl Republican Mayor's Association Helen Ferrer, State Senator-Elect Amber Hulse (SD), and many more. The speakers were informative and inspiring in their dedication to women's issues.

The keynote speaker was former swimmer and women's issues advocate Rily Gaines. Her story and that of leadership's indifference to the issues she and her teammates confronted amazed attendees. Dozens of young female athletes attended and had the unique opportunity to meet Riley and share some one-on-one time. I was not fully informed about her background, but I am so pleased that I was able to attend. It refortified my beliefs that empowered women, empower women… I hope to be as inspiring in my work as she was to everyone in attendance.

Some event sponsors included the Republican National Hispanic Assembly, The Women's Republican Club of Miami, Federated, College Republicans of UCF, National Christian Foundation, Winter Park Republican Women, First Academy, Orange County Republican Party, PopNoggins, LLC, RWSFF, Erin Huntley, Joy Ashlock and many more.
