WEAR TV news (ABC channel 3) in Pensacola, Florida recently reported that a local man was facing federal charges for threatening President Trump.
Records from the case received by WEAR included a string of "violent" emails sent to military officials and news outlets. This happened over a day and nearly a year ago.

According to a news release by the U. S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Florida, the trial is scheduled for April 6, 2026. If convicted, Hamlett faces up to 5 years’ imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
