Miami, Florida -
• In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 3, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, were extracted in Caracas from the bunker where they were hiding. In a surgical operation, extraordinarily well executed, they were detained by Delta Force special operations units and taken to a helicopter that transported them to the U.S.S. Iwo Jima. They later departed for New York, where they were brought before a court to hear the charges filed against them by the U.S. government. However, power in Venezuela remains in Chavista hands, with former Vice President Delcy Rodríguez acting as Interim President. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino remain in their respective positions.
• United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio will now have the task of managing Venezuela with a team under his command. What a tremendous job our brilliant Secretary of State will have. As in all socialist countries, Venezuela is in crisis: talent has left the country and factories were never modernized. Oil production has fallen by 60% compared to what it was producing a few years ago. As for President Trump’s “unfortunate comments” about opposition leader María Corina Machado, the reality is that the Venezuelan people love her, admire her, and want her to be their leader. I do believe she needs help, especially with the military, and that is where the United States could assist for a time until everything stabilizes. May God help Venezuela steer the country toward democracy and continue the streak of winds of freedom, carrying us toward Cuba and Nicaragua. Let us change blood red for sky blue!
• The Minnesota scandal involving Somali fraud totaling several billion dollars has led to the downfall of Governor Tim Walz. He announced that he will not run for a third term as governor and that he will retire. Well, he will be lucky if an investigation into the scandal in his state does not directly implicate him. “Bad Kamala” must be taking tranquilizers thinking that she selected “a smoke bomb” as her vice president.
• After years of denying rumors that Maduro’s security ring was made up of Cuban military personnel, the Cuban government came forward to declare that Cuba suffered the loss of 32 soldiers who were “guarding” Maduro and who were killed during the assault by Delta Force on Fort Tuna, where Nicolásito and his wife were hiding. Not only did Cuba come off as a liar (which is nothing new), but it also had to admit Cuba’s intervention in Venezuela.
• A 6.5 earthquake shook central and southern Mexico. Two people are dead and 12 injured.
• The Miami Hurricanes football team returned home after extraordinary victories in Dallas against Ohio State and in New Orleans against Ole Miss. University of Miami fans are now preparing to travel to the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens to support the Hurricanes in the national championship game against Indiana University and their Cuban-American quarterback - - Fernando Mendoza, born in Miami and winner of the Heisman Trophy. Best of luck to our boys!
• New York City Mayor Mandami ended his acceptance speech on January 1 by uttering the tragic words: “I was elected mayor of New York as a democratic socialist, and I will govern as a democratic socialist.” Get ready, New Yorkers… socialism is just around the corner, and it’s not just Reme’s little corner!
• We began 2026 with all TV channels covering the inauguration of socialist Mayor Mandani. A frivolous speech by Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez gave way to the 34-year-old mayor, inexperienced, taking control of the most important city in the United States. May God protect New York and its residents!
• Republican Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana is a brilliant, likable man with a way of speaking that makes everyone relate to him. A true gem in the United States Senate.
• After showing his displeasure over an alleged attack on one of his residences in Russia, dictator Vladimir Putin was contradicted by U.S. government intelligence agencies. President Trump’s displeasure with this lie is significant because it demonstrates that Putin is not acting in good faith in the search for peace between Russia and Ukraine.
• Elon Musk confirmed that he will financially support Republicans in winning the 2026 Congressional elections. Musk is a true American patriot despite not having been born in the United States. Currently the richest man in the world. Thank you, Elon!
• Tatiana Schlossberg, granddaughter of former President John F. Kennedy, died of leukemia at age 32. She was the daughter of Caroline Kennedy. What a tragedy for that family. May she rest in peace!
• José is asked: “If a lion attacks your beloved wife and your beloved mother-in-law, whom would you save?” He replied: “Well, the lion… between those two beasts they’d kill the poor little animal.”
