Miami, Florida - On Cuban Independence Day, May 20, the Cuban exile community celebrated “in grand style” the indictment of Raúl Castro for the murder of four pilots from Brothers to the Rescue in international waters during 1996. Hundreds of compatriots gathered at the Freedom Tower to listen to the current head of the U.S. Department of Justice as he read the legal document that would make thousands of Cubans around the world happy. We are beginning a new cycle that will not stop until we achieve our goal of seeing a free Cuba.

The possibility that socialist Iván Cepeda (the likely successor to Gustavo Petro) could win the Colombian presidential elections has all of Latin America crying out in pain. It is practically abnormal that a cultured people would vote for these types of individuals, but pollsters are reporting this possibility! We can only pray that it does not happen! As usual, the right is divided and will go into the elections with two candidates: Paloma Valencia and Abelardo de la Espriella.
On Election Day, Colombians gave Espriella 43%, with 6% for Valencia, for a combined 49% for the two conservative candidates. On the left flank, Cepeda received 40% of the vote, so he will go into the runoff with Espriella.
Hundreds of Colombians exercised their right to vote in their presidential election at their country’s consulate in Coral Gables on Sunday, May 31. Elections are very important, and only with a massive turnout by its citizens can a democratic government be achieved in that country. Colombia requires in-person voting by their overseas citizens, and avoids the problems with mail-in voting. May God enlighten them!

The U.S. Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, resigned from her position, explaining that her husband is suffering from a rare form of cancer and she wishes to be by his side during this difficult time. The former Democrat presidential candidate has had a very successful public career. We wish her husband a speedy recovery.
