Robert's Rules of Order Are Apparently NOT Ron DeSantis's Rules
“Roberts Rules of Order” is a manual of parliamentary procedure written to help guide voluntary citizen associations in their operations of governance, as well as to bring order and fairness to meetings and meeting procedure. It was written by a U.S. Army officer in the 1800’s, to bring order to the chaos of political meetings in San Francisco, in order for the law to prevail. (Some things never change?)
Some slight variations of this original manual are used in every governmental meeting in a free society.
‘Where there is no law [...] there is the least of real liberty”, said Roberts. Nothing good can be accomplished with confusion and rancor. Smart man. The RPOF should take heed, but I guess it depends on what they plan to accomplish.
The American Republic is a bottom-up organization. The people are in charge. Parliamentary procedure assures that all are heard and able to question when necessary. This is the stuff of a free and fair society. Take note, RPOF
“Point of Order” is a tool within Robert’s Rules , which is used to draw attention to a breach in rules, an irregularity in procedure, etc. It is for the people to use, but just raising of a hand.
I call “point of order”, then, and hereby draw attention to a breech in rules committed by a representative of the Florida State Legislature, at a meeting of the Lake County Republican Executive Committee (REC).
At that meeting, the Republican Precinct Committee was present, and had a prepared agenda for the evening. These are duly elected representatives of the people in Lake County’s REC.
Without warning, Florida state Rep. Taylor Yarkowsky (FL25) introduced a new agenda, telling the surprised REC members that the meeting would not be run as agreed upon. Yarkowsky insisted that now, only “eligible members” were allowed to be present for the meeting. A number of long-time residents were shocked to find out that they were no longer considered members of their own county’s REC unless and until they signed a “loyalty pledge” to the Republican Party of Florida! Some constituents may have received a brief email in June, it is said, concerning this oath. Few, if any remember receiving it, as June is a month of travel, vacations and generally lower population in the state.
Many were surprised and angered. Several citizens, including a Viet Nam veteran, tried to speak up and refuse these manipulations, which, of course, was their right in a free state.
Yarkowsky then signaled to someone, and THREE FLORIDA STATE TROOPERS ENTERED AND REMOVED ANYONE NOW DEEMED TO BE A NON-MEMBER
Read that again. State police took away free citizens from a meeting of their county government. These people were not violent or unlawful. Some of them had previously supported DeSantis for President. All of this was arranged by Tallahassee, with whom, it’s becoming apparent, no one may disagree.
This is the “Free” state of Florida under DeSantis. The veteran who had risked his life for our freedom, lost his that night., in the “Free State of Florida”.
If you are not angry yet, you should be.
This attack by the RPOF on Floridians has been going on for nearly a year now. In that time, the state Republican party has - among other things - removed a strong Trump supported from national committee powers; filed “cease and desist” orders against Trump supporters for calling themselves “Republicans”; removed duly elected commissioners from their ability to vote; and even shut down a REC (Manatee). Now, the RPOF has taken to calling the law to throw citizens out of meetings where they have every right to be. This is not “politics” in a free country.
I am not glossing over this totalitarian behavior of the state party; I am trying to provide a partial list of it all. I’ve written fourteen articles about this in my Substack. If you are interested, please feel free to dig in. Subscribing will bring you all previous articles about this, and more.

Stay tuned. There IS more; lots of it.
Yarkowsky is just a tool. He does the bidding of the masters. There are people like him throughout politics, which is what gives a bad name to the management of our Republic. I’m not saying to forgive him; instead, look him up. Ask about the other family in Columbia… The RPOF has manipulated others, like their former Chairman, with personal stories. It seems to be how they get some of the “cooperation” from elected representatives.
It is clear that the RPOF no longer cares what people think. It is beginning to feel as if they are secure in the belief that they will get their way. This leads to the main issue: WHY?
**WHY does this party feel that they can treat their citizens any way they choose?**
Election fraud may be the answer. The RPOF may be confident that they will win the next election, despite the peoples’ choices. Florida citizens are a large majority, MAGA, as you know. Yet, strange numbers have been found in newly registered voters SINCE Nov., 202\, many of which have been in Democrat districts.
Kris Jurski and The People’s Audit (TPA) group had just finished identifying nearly 500,000 mail-in ballots which did not have the ID required to be recorded. The timing (spikes) and areas indicated invalid registrations. As you also know, the State Senate committee on election “integrity” basically lifted their collective leg on four citizens who came to tell them about what TPA has found. I reported on that Feb. 4 hearing, in the Miami Independent
Areas in the west coast of Florida (Hillsborough and Pinellas Counties) have discovered that a number of down-ballot Democrats had won their elections despite the 80%+ turnout for Trump. Whenever down-ballot candidates (ie., those running for lower level positions) win when there is a large plurality for the head of the opposite ticket, there is almost always planned voting (aka, election fraud) involved. This occurred in 2020 in AZ and NM, and elsewhere. This may well be happening in Florida.
In this case in the Hillsborough/Pinellas area , a US House Seat may be turned over from Democrat to Republican if fraud is proven.
Could the RPOF be acting in consort with their supposed enemies? I’ll put nothing past them, after watching their actions these last three years. I’ve heard that Evan Power, the RPOF Chair, brags on how easy it is to turn a county “Republican”, yet his home county, Leon, is Democrat blue (59 - 38% for Kamala Harris). Leon county is also home to the State capital, and DeGov.. Just sayin’.
Dishonest elections don’ bother those on the other side of the fence from freedom. Totalitarians do not respect our ways - INCLUDING ROBERTS RULES, free and fair elections, and citizens’ choices. Pretty much describes the actions of the RPOF this last year, sad to say.
We must get real… Party designations are now meaningless. Our two choices for governance are our Constitution or Communism. Think of those as the political parties of today, and going forward. I know MY choice.
Although not part of the story here, I just read that DeGov was planning to pressure our President to support Casey DeSantis for Governor next year. Dear God, no. Florida needs a break from DeSantis’s “Free State” construct!! Floridians want to be REALLY FREE, as our Constitution provides. The privilege of attending local political meetings without fear of arrest should come without question. That is what we expect in a free country.
With this morning’s announcement of Trump’s support for Byron Donalds as Florida’s next Governor, DeGov may not go beg, but the fact that he intended to try - after not helping Trump’s campaign ONE IOTA before the election - is just another little window into his soul. Yuk.
Post script: Some friends remind me that Governor DeSantis is not necessarily behind the doings of the RPOF, that he may not even know what’s going on in cases like these. My Katsense says this: if he has no clue, of the lawfare against and disenfranchsement of parts if his constituent base, then he is blatantly incapable of running anything, let alone a state with the third most electoral votes in the country, and CERTAINLY not the USA! Just sayin’…
POINT OF ORDER!
Florida under DeSantis’s RPOF is becoming “the least of liberty”! I hope folks are listening…
