On August 25th, 2026 we published an article entitled Palm Beach County REC Voting To Replace Indicted Candidate, by a guest contributor Paul Wells.

We have been contacted by the Palm Beach REC objecting to the following information in the article as false:

1. - Paul Wells is not a Palm Beach REC member and not a registered voter.

2. Comment paragraph that begins with "REC Chairman Cascio is currently in Europe...and "has insisted on running tonight's meeting via Zoom" rather than allowing Vice Chairwoman" Lonnie Weinberg to preside (Lonnie happens to be “male”) and Lonnie was the presiding chair at the meeting in the physical absence of the Chair (who did open the meeting via ZOOM and remained connected through-out the meeting to give guidance where appropriate).

3. Comment paragraph that begins with: Caruso still retains strong allies on the REC Board - quoted names of supporters on the Board (no one to our knowledge spoke to the purported Paul Wells.) and our stand has been "all persons charged are innocent until proven guilty".

4. Palm Beach REC was not given the chance to refute the information.

The article was incorrect and did not meet our reporting standards.

We therefore retract the article in full. The article has been taken down. We apologize for and regret the error.
