2. Expediting business licenses and permits.
3. Promoting safe schools.
4. Reducing property taxes and other impositions.
5. Dismantling regulatory burdens that undermine affordability.
She will fight for lower costs, safe communities, strong families and accountable government. Accordingly, she supports Amendment No. 3 to reduce property taxes.
Mery appreciates the role of our Constitution to protect our freedom by providing limited government through the separation of powers, checks and balances, and a federal system. She came from Cuba, a country where government power has gone unchecked and freedom has been trampled. She has been active for several years in distributing pocket copies of the United States Constitution and Declaration of independence. More than 100,000 copies have been distributed to over 180 schools throughout Broward County.
Mery is also committed to making the American dream available for everyone. This opportunity starts with housing affordability, which is threatened by by rising property taxes, property insurance premiums, housing association assessments, and interest rates.
Mery is a also a small-business owner of Vicky Bakery franchises in Weston and Sunrise, and has first-hand experience of the challenges and opportunities facing local entrepreneurs.
Mery’s district includes the towns of Sunrise, Plantation, Davie, Cooper City and Southwest Ranches, plus a small piece of Pembroke Pines. Democrats lead in voter registration, but independent voters can make a difference. Mery also has to get out to vote the full Republican base. That is where this campaign will be fought out.
