Miami, Florida - One year ago, there was an attempt on the life of Donald Trump, then a candidate for President. To this day, a year later, we know nothing about that attack—why it happened, the motives, the masterminds, etc. I believe this is more important than the gossip surrounding Jeffrey Epstein and company. Transparency is very important, but matters like this are vital for our democracy. See also: https://miamiindependent.com/trump-survives-assassination-attempt-by-deep-state/.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent confirmed that the selection process to replace Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is ongoing. Powell will not be retained when his term at the Federal Reserve ends next year.
A Cuban minister knocked it out of the park, with the home run she hit, when she declared that there are no beggars in Cuba, only “people in disguise.” What nonsense and what a mockery! I don’t know if it’s sheer incompetence or just another lie like the many we’re used to. Or both! Tourists should stop visiting Cuba, because their trip only serves to subsidize the tyrannical government, and very little of their spending reaches ordinary people.
President Trump told Vladimir Putin that he must end his “little war” against Ukraine within 50 days. Russia responded that they will remain at war until they achieve their objectives. Putin does not want to end the war, and that is a serious problem. Ukraine and its Western supporters “Fooled Around and Found Out.” Now they have the wolf by the ears and cannot afford to let him go.
On Saturday, July 12, local figure Dr. Luis Conté Agüero passed away at the age of 101. His daily presence at Versailles restaurant on 8th Street will be missed, as will he be missed by his many friends who joined him for his weekly breakfasts. May he “Rest In Peace!”
The situation in Spain under Pedro Sánchez’s government has worsened, and the European Parliament has just declared that Spain is riddled with corruption. This is the first time in history such a declaration has been made, and could signal a possible change of government in the Old Country. The European Parliament's specific statements say that Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez should resign due to the existing corruption in Spain. Earlier this year Spain suffered a nationwide electric blackout due to excessive reliance on wind and solar energy, and at the recent NATO summit in The Hague, Spain was the only country that did not agree to increase defense spending up to five percent of gross domestic product.
The United States Supreme Court has approved mass layoffs in the Department of Education.

Melania and Donald Trump will travel to London from September 17 to 19 to attend a meeting with King Charlie Three Sticks and his despicable wife. This will be the Trumps' second visit to a major U.S. ally. England is close to a civil war, with the current government supporting the Islamic invaders against the locals.
The spat between Donald Trump and Brazilian President Lula da Silva is at its peak. Trump has gone so far as to say he will raise tariffs on Brazil by 50%. In plain terms, things are at the point where “the big monkey is carrying the little monkey.” President Lula traveled to Moscow in May to join President Putin in celebrating the victory of Joseph Stalin’s Soviet Union in the Second World War.
The “auto-pen” scandal from the final days of the Biden administration has escalated beyond measure. The New York Slimes admitted that Biden authorized an assistant to sign all the pardons—possibly without even knowing who they were for. According to Trump, this is the most serious issue of the last 100 years, except for President Obama’s participation in the Russia collusion hoax. Biden was definitely in Lalaland while all this was happening.
Unfortunately, more storms are forecast in Texas this month. Rivers will cause additional problems, and all Texans are advised to stay away from dangerous areas. Your editor did not understand what “Hell or high water” meant until he lived for a short while in Texas.
There are rumors that Amancio Ortega, Spain’s richest man and founder of the Zara retail chain, is in the process of buying an office building in Miami for $275 million. The generous Galician, who contributes to charitable causes in Europe, has recognized the enormous potential of our area, and we welcome him and wish him success. He is already a major investor in commercial real estate around Lincoln Road in Miami Beach.

Malena Burke and her musical group will perform a spectacular show on Saturday, July 26, at Real Cafe, 9600 SW 8 Street. There’s no better show in all of Miami. We highly recommend it. For reservations, call 305-226-4192.
Two granddaughters of David Lawrence, former publisher of The Miami Herald, died in last week's tragedy in Kerr County, Texas. The two girls were among the victims of this terrible disaster and perished along with over a hundred people in one of the most horrific events of this century.
Three drunk men leave a bar and hail a taxi. The taxi driver sees they’re very drunk, so when they get in the car, he turns the engine on, then immediately shuts it off and says, “We’ve arrived.” The first drunk pays him. The second thanks him. And the third slaps him. The taxi driver, shocked—thinking the third realized the trick—asks: “Why did you hit me?” The drunk replies: “So you don’t drive so fast, you maniac—you almost killed us!”
