Miami, Florida - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave President Trump a copy of the letter nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize. President Obama won the prize in the first year of his first term, after having done nothing to earn it. That is how affirmative action and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work. On the other hand, Trump has negotiated peace between India-Pakistan, Congo-Rwanda, and Israel-Iran and its proxies in Gaza. Trump is working on Russia-Ukraine, but Russia is resisting. Let’s see if the Nobel Peace Prize committee will acknowledge real merit and achievement, or stay rooted in identity politics!
The floods in Texas have already claimed more than 100 lives. There are still many missing persons. A tragedy that affects us all. As is already known, the Governor of Florida is sending rescue teams to help Texas locate the victims.
Elon Musk announced that he is forming a new political party, the American Party. I greatly admire Elon Musk—I think he’s a genius—but I do not support this idea because it would only help the Democratic Party. Remember when Ross Perot decided to run for President of the United States? He helped the Republicans lose the election and allowed Bill Clinton to defeat George Herbert Walker Bush. We cannot play into the hands of the socialists now that they are “on the ropes.” Third parties in
America are for losers. If Musk wants to have a real effect in politics, he should participate in the primary elections of Republican states, like Texas and Florida.
The reform candidate for Mayor of the City of Miami, Emilio González, a retired Colonel from the United States Army, has filed a lawsuit against the City, which approved—by a 3-2 vote in the City Commission—an extension of the current leadership's term by one more year. In other words, instead of serving the four-year term they were elected for, they will now serve five… what a sham! Such an extension of terms must be approved by voters, and Florida Attorney General Uthmeier is working on a legal counter-attack.
Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve, has been a serious problem for President Trump’s administration due to his refusal to lower interest rates despite the currently strong U.S. economy. Playing politics at the Federal Reserve does not help our country.
Mark Green, the Republican Congressman from Tennessee, resigned from Congress after voting for the Big Beautiful Bill that marked Trump’s major victory in the House of Representatives. Now the Republican majority has been reduced. Mark Green was a great friend to Cubans in their fight against Communism and visited us in Miami on several occasions. We wish him great success and thank him for his affection and solidarity.
Atlanta has once again been selected as the busiest airport in the world. Over 100 million people passed through the airport in 2024. Congratulations, Georgia!
Paramount and CBS agreed to pay Donald Trump more than $17 million for the false information they provided in the 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris. The money is set aside to pay for Trump’s Presidential Library, which will probably be built on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Palm Beach County.
Trump changes Biden’s policy toward Cuba and announces that the Cuban people deserve to be free. Several measures (though still insufficient) will be implemented immediately.
JetBlue is discontinuing service at Miami International Airport starting in September. According to the airline’s management, all loss-making operations will be eliminated.
Republican Congressman Don Bacon of Nebraska announced that this will be his last term in the House. He has been a headache for President Trump. There are rumors that he may run for president, but that will be a waste of time. Republicans have to recruit a strong candidate for this Congressional swing district.
These were the most visited Latin American countries in 2024: First place went to Mexico, followed by the Dominican Republic with incredible numbers. Then came Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, and El Salvador. The Dominican Republic’s numbers are impressive. We congratulate its Minister of Tourism. And we note that Communist countries such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua have completely lost their tourism industries.
The Big Beautiful Bill that PresidentTrump strongly pushed for was finally adopted in the Senate and returned to the House, where it was approved as well, ensuring, among other provisions, that restaurant and café workers will not have to pay taxes on their tips—giving them an automatic increase in income. Very interesting!
President Trump traveled to Florida to meet with Governor DeSantis and together inspect the “Alligator Alcatraz” detention camp for illegal aliens in the Everglades, which will accommodate up to 3,000 prisoners to be processed and returned to their respective countries of origin. Everything is moving very quickly!
Travel & Leisure Magazine once again selected Siesta Key as the best beach in Florida and in the United States. This is not the first time this has happened. The beautiful town on the Gulf coast, with clear waters and white sand, has become a true gem.
A popular restaurant in Miami has been shut down for the third time by health inspectors. The number of mice and cockroaches increased from the first to the second inspection and did not go down during the third. Very unfortunate! This restaurant was founded around 30 years ago by a mom and pop, and sold to a professional hospitality group around two years ago. It turns out that the professionals are less diligent about cleanliness than mom and pop! Makes you wonder about this hospitality group’s other restaurants?
"What a handsome baby you’ve had! What are you going to name him? Said the mother’s husband.” She replied, “I like the name Alfonso, like his father.” Her husband replied, “Darling, my name is Damián.” “Or Damián, like my husband.”
