Doral, Florida - Last summer, when Donald Trump declined to join in the presidential debates organized by the Republican National Committee, your columnist agreed with his position. That column was titled “Trump and the Chipmunks.” Now Trump has been convicted of committing felonies by a kangaroo court in New York City, and this column demands a similar title. The court proceedings were lawless, the judge was conflicted and hand-picked for this assignment, and the jury was selected for political bias. The trial prosecutor was seconded from the Department of Justice of the Obama-Biden 3.0 administration. Hillary Clinton received a small fine for a similar reporting violation. Kangaroos must be offended by their connection with the legal system in New York City!

After his felony conviction, Trump denounced “a rigged trial by a conflicted judge,” with “a Soros-backed District Attorney.” He proclaimed that he is “fighting for our Constitution,” and we are “a nation in decline.” Since the trial had started, the crooked judge had gagged Trump from commenting on the proceedings. The prosecutor campaigned for Manhattan District Attorney on the platform of getting Trump. The statute of limitations had run out on this federal offense, but instead was turned into a felony under state law. The prosecution never identified the felony during the testimony. The jury was not required to reach a unanimous verdict. The judge barred testimony from the defense’s expert on campaign finance. The prosecution’s main witness was completely incredible.

This lawfare has kept Trump off the campaign trail, drained his campaign funds with legal expenses, and smeared him with criminal charges, including the label of convicted felon. New York City alone has been the site of three wrongful and unlawful cases: (1) E. Jean Carroll for alleged sexual assault in Bergdorf Goodman; (2) Attorney General Leticia James for over-valuing real estate collateral; and (3) District Attorney Alvin Bragg for a recording violation. Similar cases were brought by: (4) District Attorney Fani Willis in Fulton County, Georgia; and (5) United States Special Counsel Jack Smith in the District of Columbia and South Florida. Al these last cases are falling apart.

Accordingly, the rule of law is now dead in America, or at least in progressive jurisdictions like New York City. In those jurisdictions, there is only rule by the incumbent regime. The real threat to our democracy today is not Trump, but the lack of respect for the rule of law by progressive Democrats at all levels of government. Now we need Trump more than ever.

Vote For The Felon. It’s Important!

The election for Louisiana governor in 1991 turned into a runoff between Edwin Edwards, known for his corruption in office, versus David Duke, a Ku Klux Klansman. Bumper stickers urged citizens to: “Vote for the Lizard, not the Wizard,” and “Vote for the Crook. It’s Important!” Now bumper stickers may be made saying: “Vote for the convicted felon, not the senile crook!” and “This felon was convicted by a kangaroo court. Vote Trump 2024!”

Following this conviction by a kangaroo court, Trump’s electoral support has surged, and his fundraising has set new records. People who had been put off by Trump’s style now recognized that the real threat to the rule of law comes from this Democrat lawfare and pledge to support him. They are voting for Trump to save democracy. The conviction was proof of the corruption of our legal system, not of Trump.
Sean Maguire, partner in Sequoia Investments, a leading venture capital investor, made a donation of $300 million to the Trump campaign, after previously supporting Democrats. Maguire said Trump’s conviction “makes me want to support him even more.” But, he added, “it wasn’t the conviction as much as it was the charges being brought in the first place. These are not democratic tactics being used.” He deplored “the double standards and lawfare that Trump has faced.” The Democrat tactics, not Trump, constitute the real end of democracy.

Other voters switching to Trump objected to “contorting the law or using prosecutorial authority in the name of saving democracy.” They observed that Democrats have shown “a willingness to use whatever means necessary to stay in power.” In response, the Trump Train is roaring back.

Despite Trump’s travails, no Republican officeholder has come to his defense in an effective manner. For example, the Attorney General of the State of Florida has failed to indict the prosecutors who have been maliciously and wrongfully persecuting a Florida resident. Fani Willis, the rogue prosecutor of Fulton County, was partying in Miami unscathed a couple of weekends ago. United States District Judge Aileen Cannon looks like a good Republican candidate for Florida Attorney General in 2026.
Republican officeholders have failed to oppose the weaponized political persecutions of rogue progressive prosecutors. These prosecutions are a continuation of the fake impeachments that Trump endured for: (1) investigating the corruption of the Biden Crime Family in Ukraine; and (2) the false-flag operation conducted by the administrative state at the Capitol on January 6, 2021 to cover up a stolen presidential election.

America’s Founders insisted that “the people shall judge.” Today the decisive judgment in the presidential election will likely be delivered by middle-class, independent, suburban voters along the Main Line of Philadelphia, Grosse Pointe near Detroit, and Whitefish Bay and Fox Point near Milwaukee, if the votes are counted honestly.

    Communist Democrats

Abraham Lincoln observed at Cooper Union in New York City during his presidential campaign of 1860 that Democrats will “rule or ruin.” That is, if they cannot rule us by winning election to public office, then they will ruin our constitutional republic. That is what Democrats did when they started the Civil War, and they have not changed.

The Declaration of Independence points out that governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed, but this consent must be obtained honestly in order for governments to exercise legitimate power. Otherwise you have illegitimate government. This Democrat lawfare against Trump is an attempt to prevent the people from having a meaningful choice, from making the final judgment, when electing their next President. This tactic is no different from the irregularities that marred the presidential election of 2020. Both lawfare and election fraud constitute attacks on true democracy itself.

The progressive Democrat vision is not government by, of and for the people, but by so-called expert technocrats who pretend to know better than ordinary citizens. Voters object to the “weaponization of the judicial system.” They hope that a Trump victory will have a “deterrent effect” against “politically motivated and targeted and retributive prosecutions” of political dissenters. If they can do this to Trump, then they can do it to any ordinary citizen.

Donald Trump now stands as the champion of individual liberty under the rule of law, against the totalitarian communist tyranny of the woke progressive mob, the administrative state of the Obama-Biden 3.0 presidency, and the bosses of the Democrat party. As Trump has often said: “They are not after me, they are after you. I am just in the way.

The Rule of Law is a Bourgeois Convention

The law comes from our Creator in the Ten Commandments, and it comes through Moses and his people. If you do not believe in our Creator, and if you want to kill the people of Israel, as is the case with progressives, then you will not respect the rule of law, because you do not believe that you will be held to account by a higher power. Latin America is a prominent example of this phenomenon.
The Stalinist show trials staged against Trump in New York City, as well as in the District of Columbia and South Florida, show the total disregard by progressives for what Lenin derided as bourgeois legalism. The left is no longer liberal; they are progressive, socialist and communist. They demand totalitarian control and censor dissent with cancel culture.

The administrative state of bureaucratic experts has no use for the checks and balances of the rule of law. Regulatory agencies have no respect for the separation of powers, and routinely prosecute defendants, for violating rules adopted solely by the agencies, before their own administrative law judges. They have been transforming the Constitution into a meaningless document since the progressive era started around 1900. This Democrat lawfare is but the latest step in the progressive war against our American constitutional republic.

In any event, Horace Walpole, the first Prime Minister of Great Britain, observed that: “No country was ever saved by good men, because good men will not go to the length that may be necessary.” Now is the time for all Americans to come to the defense of our constitutional republic.
