Doral, Florida - Donald Trump purchased the Doral National Golf Club over a dozen years ago, before he launched his presidential campaign in June 2015. This property was originally developed in the 1950’s by Doris and Al (hence Doral) Kunkel, a couple from New York looking for a golf course where the guests in their Miami Beach resort could play. In search for such a golf course, they drove west over the Julia Tuttle Causeway until they reached Miami Springs, just north of Miami International Airport. From 1935 to 1955, the local PGA Tour event was held in the Miami Springs Golf Club, which is still active.
The Kunkels kept driving west a short way until they reached Galloway Road, a main north-south thoroughfare in unincorporated Dade County. On the northwest corner of the intersection, they bought an almost one-square mile plot of farmland with avocado and orange trees. There over time they built four golf courses, a club house with adjoining ballrooms, and several resort lodgings and related communities.
One of these golf courses, the Blue Monster, replaced Miami Springs in hosting the local PGA Tour event from 1962 to 2016. This golf resort was world-class, but after the death of Doris and Al, it was not kept up. Eventually their estate filed for bankruptcy and the property was put up for sale. That was when Trump saw an opportunity to take a once world-class property and make it great again. That was the same opportunity for America that Trump saw when he launched his presidential campaign.
Morning in America
Trump is a welcome relief after the Obama-Biden 3.0 administration. Biden is leaving office with record-low approval, and the Obama Caliphate is on the wane. The woke progressive left has been attempting a China-style cultural revolution since 2008 when Obama was elected. This administration has implemented policies of: open borders allowing America to be invaded by millions of illegal aliens; nihilist critical race theories; trans-sexual agendas; and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion quotas and indoctrination.
The Trump 1.0 administration had left behind: a rebounding economy after the unreasonable shutdowns due to the Wuhan flu virus; a secure border; negligible inflation and low interest rates; peace abroad; and abundant reliable and affordable energy
Trump is a high-energy leader, while Biden has been mentally disabled throughout his four years in office. A federal prosecutor found him incompetent to stand trial. Biden has been our de jure President for the last four years, but our de facto President has been Obama, sometimes working with the rest of the Democrat Triumvirate - - Pelosi and Schumer - - and always working with the administrative state.
Trump has shown his courage and perseverance, overcoming: (1) a SWAT-style raid of his residence by the FBI; (2) two baseless impeachments; (3) five groundless civil and criminal cases in state and federal courts; (4) negative coverage all the time by almost all the media; (5) attempts to remove him from the ballot in two states; (6) two assassination attempts; and now (7) partisan claims of inciting an insurrection on Capitol Hill.
In that so-called insurrection on January 6, 2021, the Deep State staged a riot in order to cover up a stolen election. The riot was mostly a false-flag operation, in effect an American Reichstag fire copied from Berlin in 1933:
1. Speaker Pelosi and Mayor Bowser had rejected Trump’s offer of 10,000 National Guardsmen to defend the Capitol, thereby creating a soft target.
2. The Capitol Police acted in an inconsistent manner, in many cases welcoming the Trump demonstrators and even escorting them on tours.
3. The FBI and other federal agencies fielded dozens of agents provocateur to incite the crowd, including Ray Epps and John Sullivan.
4. The FBI has failed to explain the pipe bombs planted near the headquarters of both the Democrat and Republican National Committees.
5. The Trump supporters were unarmed, and the only shooter was an Affirmative Action DEI officer of the Capitol Police who wrongfully killed an unarmed female veteran.
6. Trump had conducted over 500 rallies since he started his political campaigns, and none of them had resulted in violence by his supporters. Violence against his supporters had occurred in San Jose, California, and was threatened in Chicago so that a planned rally had to be candelled.
7. The January 6 Select Congressional Committee destroyed evidence following its investigation, and appears to have tampered with at least one witness.
Trump has also expanded his MAGA base to include all ethnic groups and many different outlooks, while Democrats relied on the waning cultural power of the mainstream media, Hollywood, academia and tech oligarchs. This expansion is being shown now in the debate inside the Trump camp over lawful immigration by highly-skilled immigrants.
Finally, Trump has become an American cultural icon, with: (1) his mug shot in Fulton County, Georgia; (2) working in a McDonald’s drive-through window; (3) riding in a garbage truck wearing a safety work-vest; and (4) responding to an assassination attempt, where his head was nearly blown off, with a raised fist yelling: “Fight! Fight! Fight!”
Rising Optimism
Americans have become more optimistic since the presidential election in November. Polls show that a majority of Americans attribute their optimistic outlook in 2025 to the incoming Trump 2.0 administration. The Small Business Optimism Index, kept by the National Federation of Independent Businesses, rose by eight points in November to 101.7, its highest level since June 2021. Small business owners are optimistic about future conditions, especially regarding tax and regulatory policies, as well as relief from inflation.
Now that Trump has been elected President twice, coming back after a disputed electoral defeat, there can be no doubt that Americans support not only his policies, but also his manner. In this third election he also won the national popular vote as well as the Electoral College, and carried a majority in the Senate and House of Representatives. His coat-tails also carried Republicans to victory in the Minnesota and Michigan state legislatures, and in local offices for Miami-Dade County, Florida. He won a real mandate, not just Bill Clinton’s 43% of the national popular vote in 1992. Trump had already appointed a working majority in the Supreme Court.
The so-called Emerging Democrat Majority was built on the quicksand of ethnic identity and socialist policies in healthcare, energy, media, finance and other industries.
The American Republic is coming out of a near-death experience. The American experiment may end some day, but not today, not on our watch. The God of the Bible answers prayer.
The Legacy of Jimmy Carter
Before Obama-Biden, Jimmy Carter was considered the worst President since Woodrow Wison, but now he has been surpassed in that position. Compare Trump’s legacy from his first term, and the prospects for his second term, with the legacy left by President Jimmy Carter that Trump must still deal with:
1. Mullahs in Tehran: In 1979 the Carter administration allowed the leader-in-exile of the Iranian Shia clergy to fly back from Paris to Tehran. Under his leadership, the Shah was overthrown in a bloody revolution which continues to resonate today. Carter may have concluded that the Shah had lost legitimacy to rule, but the Mullahs have no legitimacy themselves. They govern through repression of dissidents and rigged elections. With funding from the Obama-Biden 3.0 administration, they supported the Jihadist pogrom outside Gaza on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
2. Education Department: Since President Carter started the United States Department of Education in 1979, the educational achievements of American students have declined. The worst probably came during the school shutdowns in response to the Wuhan flu virus, from which students have still not recovered. The Education Department serves teachers’ unions at the expense of students and their parents.
3. Panama Canal: The United States created the Republic of Panama and built the Panama Canal. Nevertheless, Carter gave it away in 1977, out of self-loathing guilt about America’s success. The problem when you transfer such a strategic asset to a weak country, riddled with corrupt governments, is that you create an opportunity for a strong power from outside the hemisphere to take it over. That is what China has been doing since Panama became one of the first countries to sign on for the Belt-and-Road Initiative in 2017. This is how the Chinese Empire has been built for more than 3,000 years. Today China can block the canal from being used by the United States Navy to deploy ships from the Atlantic to the Pacific theaters, and back.
4. Inflation: The Obama-Biden 3.0 administration gave us the highest rate of inflation in 40 years, when it was caused by the Carter administration. Debasing the currency has been a sign of failed government since at least the Roman Empire. As John Maynard Keynes observed, the most effective way to undermine the middle class is to debauch the currency.
Carter is coming to the end of his life, but he was proud to have lived long enough to vote for Kamala Harris and a fourth term for Caliph Barack Hussein. To heck with Jimmy Carter!
New Birth of Freedom
An Obama-Harris administration would have represented a fourth presidential term for Obama, and a continuing slide into woke progressive tyranny. Trump, however, offers America a new birth of freedom. Freedom to rein in the administrative state, which is swallowing the Constitution. Freedom to restore equal treatment and the rule of law throughout the land. Freedom to restore standards of excellence and merit in our military and all other endeavors. The fundamental transformation of America sought by Obama has been derailed, for now.
Abraham Lincoln warned us, in a speech at the Young Men’s Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois, during 1838, that America could never be conquered from outside, but could only be destroyed from inside by our own hand.
After Rome was sacked by invading Gauls in 390 B.C., Marcus Furius Camillus led the restoration of the Roman Republic. Trump promises to do the same for the American Republic. Vivat Trumpus Maximus Camillus!
In effect, Trump has given us a great Christmas gift: He has given us our country back. Now it is up to us to show that we are worthy Americans.
Ed, this is the best article you have ever written. Bravo! You should send it to The Miami Herald, The Wall Street Journal and other newspaper publications to see if the would print it.

The fraud involved with these H1B visas is being exposed for all to see.
