Doral, Florida - Progressive policies ruin everything. Ever since Democrat leadership was captured by extreme progressives in this Millenium, gone are moderate liberals like President Slick Willie Clinton, Senator Zell Miller of Georgia, and even Secretary of the Treasury Larry Summers. Instead, the Democrat leadership has been captured by extreme globalists, communists and jihadists like Caliph Barack Hussein Obama, Senators Bernie Sanders and Fauxcahontas Warren, and now Vice President Quemala Harris.

    Their progressive policies don’t work:

    1. Lifting restrictions and encouraging mass illegal immigration doesn’t work. The results are unsustainable costs for social services provided to illegal aliens, an increase in social disorder and migrant crime, including organized crime, and an influx of non-citizens voting in our elections.

    2. Inflation and higher interest rates don’t work. During the current administration, the purchasing power of our currency has decreased by at least 20%. This currency debasement has damaged not only ordinary working folks, but also seniors living on their retirement savings. The interest rates on home mortgage loans have more than doubled.

    3. Tolerance of social disorder and lenient law-enforcement doesn’t work. Soros-funded prosecutors who have refused to enforce the law, and have shown leniency toward criminals and disdain for their victims. Defund the police and no cash-bail has produced nothing but increased street crime.

    4. Approaching everything through the lens of ethnic and sexual identity doesn’t work. Judging people and their actions and arguments by the identity of those making them defies logic and common sense. If America is so racist and infused with white supremacy, then why are so many black and other colored people so eager to immigrate here? When they arrive, why are so many successful in their careers, businesses and professions? Martin Luther King’s view that people should “not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character” is the principle that works for all ethnicities.

    5. Alternative sources of energy like wind and solar are incapable of providing the energy needed by a modern economy, especially with the growing demands of data farms and Artificial Intelligence. The only reliable, affordable and even clean sources of energy are fossil fuels like natural gas, petroleum and clean coal, plus nuclear energy, especially when produced in America.

    6. The over-reaction to the Wuhan flu virus, including suppression of dissenting voices, insistence on shutting down businesses, churches and schools, and mandatory requirements to take untested vaccines, all don’t work.

    7. In the area of election integrity, a whopping 84% of all voters support requiring photo ID to vote, and just as many support requiring proof of United States citizenship. Progressives oppose both requirements, likely because they cannot win otherwise.

    Lowest Common Denominator

Accordingly, Democrats cannot run on substantive issues and policies. Instead, candidates from Harris-Walz to local state representatives and all other races have to resort to running on lies, dissimulation and allegations. They aim their pitch at the lowest common denominator of voters’ sensibilities on such issues as abortion, threats to democracy and personal conduct.

For example, we have seen the lawfare waged by Democrats against Donald Trump, making wrongful and unsubstantiated allegations with respect to: (1) sexual assault in Bergdorff-Goodman; (2) over-valuing assets offered as collateral for mortgage loans; (3) misreporting of a legal expense for a non-disclosure agreement; (4) mishandling of classified documents; and (5) fomenting insurrection on Capitol Hill.

Those allegations have been shown to be groundless, but there has been no apology from prosecutors, much less from the partisan propaganda machine of the mainstream media. Nevertheless, the Harris-Walz campaign continues with lies about Trump’s position on abortion, and claims that Trump would govern as a fascist dictator. If Democrats really believed that about Trump, then they would be making plans now to emigrate, and would leave before his inauguration. That is how you know that even they don’t believe their own allegations.

Similarly, State Representative Fabian Basabe (R-District 106) has faced baseless allegations in his race for re-election from Miami Beach. Fabian has been hit with allegations of sexual misconduct by the mainstream media, with no empirical evidence provided. He vehemently denies these allegations.

An attorney involved in Fabian’s campaign has observed that: “It pains me to witness the unfortunate evolution unfolding within the practice of law. Gone are the days in which individuals were afforded protections from outdated, unproven and unsubstantiated allegations. Gone are the days in which truth, veracity and due process served to form the basis of public opinion and proof. Gone are the days in which actual proof of guilt is required, and gone are the days in which a court of law decides truth from fiction. In these unfortunate times, the court of public opinion decides guilt versus innocence, and this particular court is extremely quick to convict.

“For reasons unknown, the public no longer seems to require actual evidence or proof to so convict. Allegations have become absolute truths, and evidence and proof has been replaced with attention-grabbing headlines and salacious allegations.

“These allegations are intended to leverage some benefit out of Representative Basabe and to otherwise frustrate the outcome of his upcoming election. He looks forward to clearing his name and in a court of law at the appropriate time.”

It is up to voters at the ballot box to put an end to these baseless allegations, which are offered by the mainstream media with no supporting evidence. These allegations constitute election interference of the worst sort. It makes people not want to vote, and most importantly, it makes decent people not want to run for public office. As political philosophers since Plato and Aristotle have observed, the only reason good people go into politics is to avoid being governed by other people.

Representative Basabe says: “The timing of these baseless accusations speaks louder about this newspaper’s desire to influence your vote than any statement I can make. And let’s not ignore the fact that I am put under attack less than two weeks to Election Day, which is revolting and must be taken into consideration.”

Democrats campaign on the lowest common denominator. Their party operators with newspaper bylines in the mainstream media make allegations with no supporting evidence, because their party has nothing substantive to run on.

People are sick and tired of smear campaigns and misinformation. They are voting with their pockets and they are voting for people who show up and do the work. Representative Basabe is worth your vote, if you are registered in his district.
