A new slate of leadership was elected this evening for the Miami-Dade County Republican Executive Committee.
For the Chairman position, State Rep. Alex Rizo was chosen. He confirmed to the Miami Independent in recent discussions that he would ensure transparency in party affairs, a change from past behavior. He also affirmed he would not spend money against GOP candidates in primary elections.
"It's an extreme honor to accept this responsibility. When I was a kid, Hialeah was 75% Republican. We're going to get there for Miami-Dade," declared Rizo.
"All of Florida is looking at us. We are the tip of the spear. We will increase registration and have targets to achieve. We will bring honorable, conservative candidates to the party."
Kevin Cooper was elected Vice Chairman. Annette Hernandez was re-elected Treasurer. Max Losner remained Secretary.
