Miami, Florida - Maria Corina Machado, Venezuelan opposition leader and winner of a Nobel Peace Prize, decided not to have a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez while she was in Madrid for a speaking appearance at a political rally. Despite multiple requests from members of the PSOE - - the Spanish Socialist Workers Party - - she stood firm in her decision. María Corina is a very valuable woman and, moreover, very proper.

Maria Corina managed to gather thousands of people in Madrid at that rally, in which she participated alongside Isabel Diaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, and Maria Corina’s running mate, Edmundo González. María Corina must receive all the necessary help to be able to return freely to Venezuela.

The FBI Director, Kash Patel, filed a $250 million lawsuit against The Atlantic magazine, which accused him of drinking excessively and not working normally in the offices. Interesting!

American Airlines has been authorized to fly to Venezuela. The flights will be direct from Miami to Caracas and will cost an almost prohibitive price. Only business people and workers in the oil and gas industry will be able to afford them!

The U.S. Secretary of Labor in the current administration, Lori Chávez DeRemer, has just resigned from her important position. Her resignation, effective immediately, is the result of her innumerable labor conflicts.

Artificial intelligence is being used to try to harm President Trump through lies about his wife. Fake photos of Melania with Epstein and her lover are appearing on the internet. One lie after another. Fortunately, the American people already understand the game that the socialist Democrats are using to invent things that never happened.

Our congratulations to John Couriel on his appointment as Chief Judge of the Florida Supreme Court. John graduated in 1996 from Christopher Columbus High School. He is the son of exiled Cubans.

A record fundraising of $100 million dollars shook Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami during the inauguration of its powerful new Emergency Room, the largest and most modern in the country. Located near the current Emergency Room, it will open its doors this week to serve all those who need immediate care. Among the most important donors are: our current Ambassador to Spain, Benjamín León of León Medical Centers; the Lennar Foundation; Royal Caribbean Foundation; José Milton Foundation; Trish and Dan Bell; the Codina Family; and many others. Our thanks to everyone! Very special congratulations to Carlos Migoya, who was able to see his five-year dream completed and who is retiring from the hospital with the satisfaction of a job well done.

The Miami Herald published (on the front page) a poll in which 79% of the Cuban-Americans interviewed support a U.S. military intervention in Cuba. The telephone survey, however, was conducted by Bendixen and Amandi, a firm that has committed glaring errors in the past. On this occasion, they were accompanied by another company. The reality is that a huge majority of Cubans are eager for regime change in Cuba, and trust Secretary of State Marco Rubio to carry out the necessary changes. I don’t know if it’s 79%, 85%, or 90%, but it is an impressive majority.

The Miami Dade College Foundation announced its dinner to honor the group of alumni entering the Hall of Fame who have distinguished themselves in different activities. The dinner will be held at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel on Friday, June 5. Cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and dinner at 7:30 p.m. Among those honored are: (1) Business: Ambassador Bernie Navarro, current U.S. Representative to Peru; (2) Philanthropy: Silvia Elena Ríos Fortun of Jackson Memorial Hospital. Silvia is the president of the Guardian Angels who have donated large amounts of money to the hospital over the years. And (3) Public Service: Miami-Dade Commissioner René García. René is very beloved and respected by the entire community. We will comment more soon on this important awards ceremony.

A few days ago, a beautiful and heartfelt event took place. It was the inauguration of the Assault Brigade 2506 Museum. With the presence of almost all the “brigadistas” and their families, Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar and Congressman Carlos Giménez, elected officials such as Alina García and Tomás Regalado, State’s Attorney Kathy Fernández Rundle, local mayors, state legislators, the mayor of Coral Gables Vicente Lago, and others, tribute was paid to those who fell on April 17, 1961. An emotional homage of great importance to the exile community.

Pepito says to Jaimito: “Yo no sabo” (I don’t know, in Spanish, using the wrong verb form). Jaimito replies: “Nooo! It’s ‘yo no sepo.’ ” Then a lady who hears them arguing says: “Look kids, you don’t say ‘yo no sabo’ or ‘yo no sepo.’ ” Jaimito replied: “Oh? So how do you say it then?” The lady replied: “Yo no sé” (I don’t know). To which Pepito replied: “… And if you don’t know, ma’am, why are you getting involved?”
