Estimates shockingly tell us that up to 32 million church-attending Christians (that is, not just nominal ones who call themselves Christians) do not vote.
How can that be?
If only half that number voted, the demonic Democrat party would die a well-deserved death, going the way of the Whigs.
Our nation was founded on Christian beliefs. Starting with the Mayflower Compact and continuing through the Declaration of Independence, our founding documents were God-inspired, political and moral powerhouses. Pastors were expounding the tenets of our Declaration for generations prior. The Black-Robed Regiment were the brave pastors at the vanguard of the revolution – with England recognizing them as the root and foundation of the rebellion.
How far we have fallen!
The pernicious lie of “separation of church and state,” plus fear of the Johnson Amendment’s threat to revoke tax exempt status with any political endorsements from the pulpit, effectively silenced a vast major of pastors, deterred by the economic consequences. Not to mention their fear of losing tithe-paying, unsaved Democrats. The American Church is fulfilling the Lord’s prophetic warnings about the Laodiceans:
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: (Reveleation 3:17)
Yet Jesus Christ exhorts the Church body to be salt and light:
Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. (Matthew 5:13-14a)
Modern (per)versions have distorted Romans 13:1 beyond all recognition. In the original English it says:
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. (KJB)
God’s pure words “soul,” “higher powers,” and “ordained” are all up in the heavenlies, speaking of a spiritual order (under Godly rulers) rather than an earthly one.
Modern translators wish you to believe that, as Christians, you are trapped:
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. (NIV)
“Everyone” instead of “every soul,” “governing authorities” instead of “higher powers,” “established” instead of “ordained” lead to a grave deception. Any plain reading of this corrupted text would prohibit German Christians from resisting Hitler – the “governing authority” of his time. Check your Bible to see what it says.
More pressingly, is your pastor exhorting the flock to get out and vote?
Does he make clear the stakes involved, and courageously combats the pernicious falsehood of “separation of church and state” from the pulpit?
If not, why not?
Sadly, I know a number of Bible-believing Christian who do not vote. They unknowingly fulfill the criticism that many Christians are escapists, who selfishly wish the Second Coming to come more quickly, so as to be with the Light of the world sooner rather than later. I understand and share the desire, but resist the siren calls to be “spiritually pure” and unsullied by political involvement. Our Founding Fathers would be shocked, and so am I.
This does not mean we need to join the Catholic Church’s ecumenical End Times church, working with unsaved nominal (or deceived) Christians to restore the nation to a God-driven one. Sharing the Gospel truth always take precedence.
Encourage your pastor to be brave this last Sunday prior to next Tuesday’s critical election. If he resists – and your Bible is riddled with corrupted texts, such as “governing authorities” – consider changing churches and Bibles.
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. (Matthew 10:16)
N.B. If you haven’t heard it, Jason Ballard’s “May God Bless America” may be the song of this election cycle. He stayed out of politics until recently. If a lot of Christian don’t wake up similarly, we may be heading for the darker side of his cautionary song.
